This guide is about installing Svea Payments to your Shopify store. New Shopify Payment App was released in 2021 and it replaces the previous Svea Payment Gateway integrations.

All Shopify shops not yet using the new payment app need to update their settings in the Shopify admin panel. The old Svea Payment Gateway integrations deprecates in June, 2022.

You can also use this instruction when installing Shopify Payment App to a new store.

Prerequisites

  • You have created a store on the Shopify platform

  • You have Owner-level permissions to manage settings

  • You have your Seller id and Secret Key ready

Summary

  1. In your Shopify store, install and activate a single Svea Payments Payment App or separate Payment Apps for each payment method

  2. Activate customer contact method “email”

  3. In Payments, activate Payment capture: automatic

  4. Disable the old integration


Installation

You have two options on how to install and use the payment methods:

  1. Install a single Payment App and let buyers select payment method after redirected redirection to Svea Payments service. Quicker to install as only one configuration is needed.

  2. Install separate Payment Apps for each payment method. Buyers can select the payment method on the Shopify checkout page.

  1. Log in to your Shopify store

  2. Select: Apps

    Option 1: Install

    Follow this link https://accounts.shopify.com/store-login?redirect=settings%2Fpayments%2Falternative-providers%2F1058937 and choose “Connect” to install a single Svea Payments Payment App

    From the list, select App called ”Svea Payments”

    to let buyers select payment method after redirection to Svea Payments service.

    1. Option 2: Install separate Payment Apps for each payment method. Buyers can select the payment method on the Shopify checkout page.

      1. From the list, select all Apps for the payment methods you want to show in Shopify Checkout

  3. Select store

  4. Test in your development store

  5. Select Install app

  6. Select activate:

    1. Note! Enable test mode only if you are using a test service.

  7. Enter your credentials: Production Merchant Seller id and Production Merchant keySecret Key. If needed, you can find these in Svea’s Extranet. If you don’t have an Extranet account, contact our customer service.

    1. Note! Webhooks from the old integration are not needed anymore.

  8. Confirm

  9. Activate Svea Payment App

 

The installation is now ready. Make sure also to check two important settings with the instructions below and to disable the old integration if you have previously had Svea Payment Gateway payment methods installed

Additional important settings:

Log in to your Shopify admin

  1. Choose: Checkout

    1. Then: Customer contact method – select “Email”

  2. Choose  Payments

    1. Then Payment capture: activate Automatic

Disabling the old integration

If you have previously used Svea Payment -integration, the old integration must be disabled when the new integration is implemented.

  • Go to "Alternative payment methods" in the store settings

  • Under "Manage", select the payment method you want to disable (for example Svea Payment Gateway v2)

  • Select “Deactivate <payment service name>"

  • NOTE! If you have had a payment page bypass, each payment method must be disabled separately.
